ŌHAU School

You may have seen in the media that NZEI members are considering strike action on Thursday 23 October. At this stage, we have not received formal notification from the union, but we want to keep our community informed.

If the strike does go ahead, our kura will unfortunately need to close for instruction on that day. While we would love to remain open, we cannot do so safely without our full teaching team.

However, we understand this may be difficult for some whānau. We will be able to provide limited supervision at school for families who have no alternative arrangements. Spaces will be very limited, so if your child will need supervision, please email or phone the office before Monday 20th October.

We appreciate your support and understanding as we await official confirmation. We will share more information with you as soon as it becomes available.

???? Rippa Rugby Sessions Next Week! ????

We’re excited to have Josh from Horowhenua Rugby running Rippa Rugby sessions next week for Rooms 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9!

Please complete the Rippa Rugby Registration Form that was given to your child today.

Important: This registration is NOT for the 2025 rugby season. These sessions are in-school only and led by a trained professional. Rippa Rugby is a non-contact form of rugby that focuses on game-based learning with transferable drills that link to multiple sports codes.

These registrations help these programmes to continue next year and into the future.

Please check that your child has a uniform, which was handed out last week.

The team list and draws will also be displayed on Room 4’s window.

Cost for the season below. Please pay at the School Office.

Year 1 – Year 2 = $10 per student
Year 3 – Year 8 = $20 per student
