ŌHAU School Enrolments for 2027
Enrolment at ŌHAU School is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which are available on our school website and from the school office.
New Entrant Students - In Zone
To support your child's transition to school they will have four school visits (on Friday's) scheduled before their start date. These dates are to allow your child to start making connections with their teacher, Jacqui, Dianne (our Principal) and the children in their class. The office will contact you to arrange these times once an enrolment has been received.
New Students - In Zone
At ŌHAU School we love for the parents and new students to connect with Dianne (our Principal) to look around and learn what our kura is about. This will give you an opportunity to meet some of the office staff, teachers and tamariki.
Out-of-Zone Enrolments for 2027
The board has determined that up to 25 places are likely to be available for out-of-zone New Entrant students, and up to 20 places for students in Years 1-8 in 2027. The exact number of places will depend on the number of applications received from students who live within the school’s home zone.
Next year there will be four enrolment periods. The first enrolment period runs from 2nd February to 9th April 2027 (Term 1).
For students seeking enrolment within the first enrolment period, the deadline for receipt of applications for out-of-zone places is Thursday 15th October 2026.
Parents of students who live within the home zone and intend enrolling their child at any time during the next year should notify the school by 15th October to assist the school to plan appropriately for next year.
Applications are to be completed under the Enrolments tab on our school website: https://www.ohau.school.nz/
If the number of out-of-zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot. If a ballot for out-of-zone places is required, it will be held on Friday 30th October 2026. Parents will be informed of the outcome of the ballot within three school days of the ballot being held.
