ŌHAU School - Cohort Entry Dates for 2027
Our school board has decided to adopt cohort entry for New Entrant children from the start of 2027. This means that children will still start school after they turn 5, but may wait a short time until the next cohort start date.
The start dates are set by the Minister of Education. Schools using cohort entry must use these dates and cannot change them.
Students cannot be enrolled until after their 5th birthday. If their birthday falls after a cohort entry start or mid term date, they may not enrol until the following entry date.
2027 Cohort Entry start dates:
Term 1:
2nd February (Week 1)
8th March (Week 6)
Term 2:
2th7 April (Week 1)
31st May (Week 6)
Term 3:
19th July (Week 1)
23rd August (Week 6)
Term 4:
11th October (Week 1)
15th November (Week 6)
